Setup and installation
What has to be installed, how the tools are configured in MetaTrader 5 and what to check before going live. One guide per product, in the same order as in the terminal.
Applies to every product
- MetaTrader 5
- All three products are MQL5 programs. MT4 is not supported.
- mql5.com account
- Purchase, download and activation run through the mql5 account, not the trading account. Log in in the terminal under Tools → Options → Community, otherwise activation fails.
- Market tab in the terminal
- View → Toolbox → Market. Purchased products appear under Navigator → Expert Advisors → Market. Updates via Purchases → Update, free of charge.
- Algo Trading
- Needed only when a program is allowed to trade or close (PropGuardian, PropMirror). PropSizer only calculates.
- VPS
- Protection and mirroring work only while the terminal runs. For 24/5 it belongs on a VPS; PropMirror needs its own Windows server because the MQL5 VPS hosts a single terminal.
- Push notifications
- Tools → Options → Notifications, enter the MetaQuotes ID from the MetaTrader mobile app, press Test.
